Job Description - Stockroom Manager

Job Summary:


Join Medico Healthcare Linen Service as a Stockroom Manager, where you will lead the Stockroom Department in driving operational excellence. You will manage garment inventories, streamline stockroom operations, and ensure the accuracy of processes using cutting-edge technologies such as RFID tracking and embroidery management systems. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader passionate about team development, process improvement, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.


 


Job Description:



  • Operational Leadership:

    • Oversee day-to-day stockroom operations, ensuring efficient processing and accuracy of garment inventory.

    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline workflows.

    • Ensure compliance with company safety policies to maintain a secure working environment.



  • Team Development:

    • Lead, supervise, and coach stockroom staff to foster a high-performance, team-oriented culture.

    • Conduct training for new hires and ongoing sessions to enhance team skills, particularly in RFID technology and inventory control.



  • Inventory & Technology Management:

    • Manage inventory processes including receiving, tracking, and distribution using barcode scanners and RFID technology.

    • Oversee garment preparation for embroidery, tracking orders, and ensuring timely turnaround.

    • Conduct routine cycle counts and audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies proactively.



  • Process Improvement:

    • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.



  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare daily reports, maintain inventory records, and ensure proper documentation for audits.

    • Support management with regular performance updates and process

Education:


·         High School diploma or equivalent.


·         Additional business or management coursework/experience preferred.


·         A college degree is not required but would be a plus.


Skills:


·         Minimum of 3 years of business management experience in a production environment.


·         Strong supervisory and management skills.


·         Experience in inventory control, receiving, storage, replenishment, and disposition.


·         Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.


·         Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.


·         Good verbal and written communication skills in English.


·         Ability to comprehend and follow directions.


·         Proficient in basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).


·         Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles is a plus.


 


Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.



  • Basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products 

  • Ability to communicate.

  • Preferably bilingual English/Spanish


 


Physical:


·         Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


·         Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.


·         Capability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy, and physically demanding environment.


·         Ability to climb up and down ladders
