Job Description
• A successful Storage and Virtualization Administrator – Junior Level candidate will
have:
o A solid understanding of the storage and virtualization processes
o Knowledge about server virtualization and hardware
o Experience with VMware vSphere and managing ESXi hosts and virtual machines
o Excellent customer service skills
• The ideal candidate will have:
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi
o Experience with maintaining and patching VMware vSphere environment
o Ability to perform incremental and full back-ups with Commvault
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Build, configure and maintain virtual machines, servers, and storage solutions.
- Provide diagnostics and technical resolution for any local or remote assets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve trouble tickets with BMC Remedy and ServiceNow.
- Provide outstanding service by interacting directly with customers seeking resolution.
- Communicate issues and recommendations back to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Document work to share with Storage and Virtualization team.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- 1+ years of experience in a system administrator role
Certification Requirements
- Candidate must be certified in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved baseline certifications prior to start date:
• IAT II = Security+, CySA+, CCNA - Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP or higher.
Clearance Requirements
- Desired:
- Required:
o Active Secret or TOP Secret.
o Applicants must have eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance.
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
- Shift – The primary shift for this position is Tuesday - Saturday, 1500 – 2330 however; this is a 24/7/365 mission, and the ability to support Day, Swing, and Mid operations is required. If a temporary schedule change is required to support operations, you will be provided with as much notice as the situation allows.
