Job Description - Store Manager

Job Summary:

Hennick's Home Center is seeking an experienced and motivated  Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store in Lakeside, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of hardware products and tools. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, driving sales, and ensuring the overall success and profitability of the store.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Store Operations:
     
    • Manage day-to-day store functions, including opening and closing procedures.
       
    • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
       
    • Implement and monitor store policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
       
  • Staff Management:
     
    • Hire, train, and supervise store employees.
       
    • Create work schedules and delegate tasks to staff.
       
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback/coaching.
       
  • Customer Service:
     
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
       
    • Resolve customer issues, complaints, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
       
    • Provide product knowledge and assistance to customers when needed.
       
  • Inventory & Merchandising:
     
    • Maintain optimal inventory levels by ordering and receiving stock.
       
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and minimize shrinkage.
       
    • Oversee product merchandising and promotional displays.
       
  • Sales & Financial Performance:
     
    • Drive sales and meet or exceed store targets.
       
    • Monitor financial performance including sales, expenses, and profit margins.
       
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
       
  • Health & Safety:
     
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
       
    • Train staff on proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
       

Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
     
  • 3+ years of retail or hardware store management experience.
     
  • Strong knowledge of hardware tools, building materials, and home improvement products.
     
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
     
  • Proficient in POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office.
     
  • Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise as needed.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
     
  • Physically active environment requiring standing for long periods and lifting.
