Position Summary
The Retail Associate is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Cachuma Lake Store. This position assists guests with purchases, maintains merchandise and displays, processes sales transactions, and helps ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Assist guests with merchandise selection and answer questions about products and available services.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process cash, credit card, and electronic payments.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Receive, stock, organize, and replenish merchandise, beverages, snacks, fishing supplies, camping essentials, and other retail inventory.
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing merchandise displays.
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low-stock items.
- Receive deliveries and organize inventory in designated storage areas.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, stockroom, and guest service areas.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and cash-handling standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support efficient daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous retail, cashier, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash and make change.
- Ability to operate or learn a point-of-sale system.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, friendly, and customer-service oriented.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of merchandise.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stock shelves and organize inventory.
- Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
