Summary: 

The Strategic Buyer & Catalog Specialist is charged with merchandise sourcing at a catalog and program level, catalog creation, order placement and special initiatives and projects as they present themselves.   

You’ll spend your days on the following: 

• Maintain relationships with industry manufacturer reps and other open market suppliers 
• Review, select and contract merchandise from suppliers based on several objectives including award mix, profitability, price points, rebates, advertising allowances, target market and audience demographics 
• Focused negotiations on pricing  
• Establish target pricing and profitability by item and category for review and approval with Manager 
• Establish and document processes including item return & substitution protocol and manage process with internal team 
• Source, present, build and manage curated lists 
• Source, secure and order personal orders 

What you need to be successful in this role: 

• Four-year degree from accredited institution 
• 2+ years of experience as a Strategic Buyer & Catalog Specialist or related role
• Strong communications skills and ability to interact with non-technical and technical people 
• International shipping and customs requirements knowledge (preferred) 
• Strong negotiating skills 
• Strong quality assurance skills/attention to detail 
• Up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, MSRP, etc. 
• Functional understanding of Augeo’s recognition technology platforms 
• Microsoft Suite proficiency
