Job Description - Strategic Planner - Career Growth Potential

Metrics is looking for a talented and dedicated Strategic Planner as we are responding to a solicitation for the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Strategic Planner, your primary responsibility will be to provide content and process expertise for advising on the establishment and implementation of strategic directions within the organization. You will support strategic planning initiatives by contributing to the development of strategic goals, objectives, strategies, performance measures, targets, and improved programmatic outcomes. This role requires a deep understanding of organizational goals and the ability to translate them into actionable plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning Support:

    • Assist in the development of strategic goals, objectives, and strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strategic plans are comprehensive and feasible.
    • Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  2. Performance Measure Development:

    • Support the development of performance measures to track progress toward strategic goals.
    • Enhance linkages between organizational strategic goals and programmatic outcomes.
    • Ensure alignment with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act (GPRAMA) requirements.
  3. Implementation of Strategic Initiatives:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic plans and recommend adjustments as needed.
    • Provide guidance on integrating strategic goals into budgeting, programming, and evaluation processes.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate strategic plans, progress, and outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate records of strategic planning activities and outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to strategic planning and performance measurement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in strategic planning, performance measurement, and organizational development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act (GPRAMA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
