Strategic Planning Manager

What you will be doing:

• Conduct sprint planning and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with the product owners and business units.


• Prioritize tasks based on evolving requirements and business objectives.


• Coordinate and resolve cross-team dependencies to ensure smooth product delivery.


• Provide leadership with regular updates on progress, risks, and blockers.


• Ensure the processes align with stakeholder needs, organizational goals, and strategic objectives.


• Partner with Product Owners to develop product roadmaps aligned with Slide’s strategic vision.


• Support Product Owners throughout the sprint life cycle by removing impediments or obstacles that may slow down or block the team’s progress.


• Define and manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap while mentoring Product Owners.


• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of product owners, guiding them in their responsibilities and fostering a collaborative environment.


• Track and report on team performance, product progress, and key metrics to ensure the product is on track to meet business objectives.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.


• Minimum 5 + years of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Agile Coach, or in a similar role within an Agile environment.


• Minimum 3 years of experience in Homeowner’s P&C insurance industry.


• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing a team.


• Experience with Duck Creek Policy platform required.


• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar certification preferred.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Expertise in managing all stages of the product life cycle.


• Understanding of the P&C insurance industry.


• Knowledge of Duck Creek Policy and Billing platforms is highly preferred.


• Experience with Change Management and Business Process Improvement.


• Deep understanding of systems and processes related to the policy life cycle.


• Solid knowledge of business operations and procedures.


• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.


• Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., ADO, JIRA, Trello, Aha!).


• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


• Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.


• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.


• Strong planning and organizational skills.


• Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments.


• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
