Position Summary
As a Strategic Sourcing Buyer based in Dallas, you’ll lead and support sourcing initiatives across the organization by executing RFPs, finding new sources, analyzing spending, evaluating suppliers, and making data-driven buying decisions. You’ll handle relationships with stakeholders and contribute to team objectives and savings targets. It’s a high-visibility role for an analytical, detail-oriented problem-solver who wants to grow in Procurement. You will play a key role in driving cost optimization, supplier standardization, and process governance across a multi-region footprint (US, Mexico, Europe), supporting strategic procurement initiatives and contributing to enterprise-wide cost control and compliance goals.
What you'll do
Category exposure & ownership — Support sourcing initiatives across key indirect categories such as facilities, MRO, logistics, professional services, HR services, and travel. Assist in developing category strategies and maintaining sourcing pipelines.
Spend analysis & reporting — Analyze purchasing data to identify negotiation opportunities and generate savings, and implement supplier performance indicators to track vendor performance.
Sourcing execution — Execute RFQ/RFP events: gather quotes, compare pricing and terms, and prepare sourcing recommendations for category managers and stakeholders, following established internal processes.
Supplier management — Track supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery) in conjunction with stakeholders, helping resolve issues and discrepancies, and bringing innovative solutions to problems.
Governance & compliance — Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval thresholds, and sourcing governance frameworks. Support the contract review process, ensuring alignment with legal, EHS, and finance requirements where applicable.
RFP structure & standardization — Prepare standardized sourcing documentation, including scope of work, bid templates, and pricing matrices. Ensure fairness and transparency by maintaining clear communication and consistent information sharing across all bidders.
Financial / business impact — Track and report cost savings, cost avoidance, and value-creation initiatives, and build total cost of ownership (TCO) models to support sourcing decisions.
Stakeholder partnership — Work closely with internal customers to determine needs, manage vendors, and improve vendor performance.
Process & systems — Apply strategic sourcing methodology to achieve results and contribute to process enhancements that improve efficiency across the organization.
