Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is pivotal in optimizing procurement processes and driving cost efficiencies. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies to ensure the procurement of goods and services at the best value while maintaining quality standards. This position reports to the Director of Operations. The manager collaborates closely with engineering to understand project needs, assess supplier capabilities, and negotiate contracts that balance cost considerations with technical requirements.
Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve overall procurement efficiency. Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers/vendors through market analysis and supplier evaluation, including RFQ/RFP development, bid analysis, and supplier contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements. Work with the purchasing team to maintain supplier relationships, including conducting supplier performance evaluations, addressing issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Develop and maintain procurement metrics and internal KPIs to track performance, measure savings, and identify areas for improvement. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with procurement policies and quality standards. Facilitate communication between engineering, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on sourcing decisions, technical requirements, and project priorities. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in strategic sourcing and supply chain management to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Engage suppliers early in the design phase to leverage their expertise, assess technical capabilities, and explore cost-effective alternatives that meet sourcing objectives for materials, components, and services
Qualifications: Proven experience (7+ years) in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management roles, preferably in a similar industry or environment. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or related field or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and financial analysis to support decision-making. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms. Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management principles. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in dealing with confidential information and business relationships.
