Main Function: Responsible for preparing and explaining procedure to patient. Stress Technician must be proficient and knowledgeable in Stress protocols and different types of testing. Stress technician is responsible for monitoring patient’s blood pressure during exercise and pharmacological testing. Stress Technician must be knowledgeable and capable of using equipment such as blood pressure cuffs and other related equipment necessary for patient monitoring and safety. Employees should be able to monitor patients and know when they are in distress. Employee is proficient in intravenous line insertion. Employee is responsible for confirming patients, preparation of charts, abstracting of studies, and working well with other team members and co-workers.

a) Is knowledgeable of procedures involved in stress testing and is aware of contraindications involved regarding patient history and medications prior to stressing patients.
b) Assists in daily operations of the Stress department
c) Completes all necessary duties for lab to run efficiently

Interacts with other co-workers in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
Promotes effective communication among the facility’s clinical areas, business office, and physician practices.

Requirements:
High School Diploma
CPR certification
Minimum of Two years Experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant
Strong ethical and moral character references
Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
The ability to understand and follow instructions, knowledge of moderately complex or other work procedures.
The ability to work independently and in a team setting to coordinate a variety of activities and events.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to handle sensitive matters using discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment.
