Structural Engineer I

At Dawood Engineering, Inc., we provide multi-disciplined consulting services for a wide range of industries encompassing Transportation, Energy & Land Planning/Site Development.

Our engineers and professionals provide Highway Design and Traffic Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying and Mapping, Pipeline and Associated Facility Design, Geotechnical/Geophysical, Environmental Studies and Water/Wastewater design.

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our structures team in our Enola, PA office location. As a Structural Engineer you will be responsible for structural bridge design and inspection to meet current approved standards and design codes, along with satisfying the criteria set forth by our clients. You will collaborate with department engineers on a variety of projects to gain hands-on experience.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews and supports the preparation of project plans, designs, and calculations ensuring notes, dimensions, materials and industry standards are met.
• Assists with preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
• Analyzes capacity of structures for current and/or proposed conditions.
• Collaborates with engineering teams to support organization of design files, field investigations, data collection, development, and design of projects. 
• Perform other duties as required by business.

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
• 0-4 years of related experience 
• Understanding of engineering principles and practices relevant to discipline 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred 
• Basic knowledge of Revit, RISA 3D and Math CAD preferred
