On any given day, you’ll:
Design a wide variety of new buildings and modifications to existing buildings.
Take the lead in building relationships with various governmental agencies, private sector clients and subconsultants.
Schedule, manage, and lead teams performing structural design of buildings and other structures.
Review structural designs, plans, and reports as engineer-of-record in conformance with applicable regulations and scopes of services.
Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
Required qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering
A Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Minnesota or Wisconsin.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the structural design of buildings and other structures.
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired skills and experiences:
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
A master’s degree in structural engineering beneficial, but not required.
Proven experience designing a wide variety of building types.
Ability to work independently and with other team members in multiple offices.
Aptitude to coaching and mentoring less experienced structural engineers.
Proven success in meeting client expectations, profitably managing projects, maintaining design schedules, and adhering to applicable regulations.
Eagerness to cultivate a team environment where all staff members feel valued and supported and all ideas flow freely.
Proficiency in RISA structural analysis software beneficial, but not required.
Structural design experience involving bridges and other structures beneficial, but not required.
