Structural Engineer / Project Manager (Buildings)

On any given day, you’ll:

• Design a wide variety of new buildings and modifications to existing buildings.


• Take the lead in building relationships with various governmental agencies, private sector clients and subconsultants.


• Schedule, manage, and lead teams performing structural design of buildings and other structures.


• Review structural designs, plans, and reports as engineer-of-record in conformance with applicable regulations and scopes of services.


• Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.

Required qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering


• A Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Minnesota or Wisconsin.


• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the structural design of buildings and other structures.


• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Desired skills and experiences:

• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.


• A master’s degree in structural engineering beneficial, but not required.


• Proven experience designing a wide variety of building types.


• Ability to work independently and with other team members in multiple offices.


• Aptitude to coaching and mentoring less experienced structural engineers.


• Proven success in meeting client expectations, profitably managing projects, maintaining design schedules, and adhering to applicable regulations.


• Eagerness to cultivate a team environment where all staff members feel valued and supported and all ideas flow freely.


• Proficiency in RISA structural analysis software beneficial, but not required.


• Structural design experience involving bridges and other structures beneficial, but not required.
