Nabe Home is a start-up company that is revolutionizing the house building industry by using technology to create an automated home assembly line. We are in the process of finishing the design work for testing facility in Norwich to achieve BBA approval for our product.
We are looking for someone who wants to come in and grow a business from the ground up. We need someone who is not afraid to innovate and seeks out solutions for problems we have not thought of yet.
As a start-up we are offering share-options in the company and bonus payments on sign off from the BBA, with a basic salary. The initial contract can be part-time or full-time forthe first 3 months and then full time once we have BBA approval. We expect the applicant to be involved in forming those contracts going forward to help drive the ambition of the company.
Role Description
We are looking for someone to come onboard with a small team to complete the design work for a LGS modular panel project.
As a Structural Engineer (SFS/LGS), you will be responsible for designing, analysing and evaluating the structural components of buildings, joint connections, creating the structural drawings and specifications that are necessary for construction. You will also liaise with cross-functional teams in order to ensure that the building plans adhere to standards and regulations, and meet project requirements. You will be required to work with the BBA for approval for the frame.
The applicant will be expected to come on board and set-up their own work enviroment, advise on software, hardware and timescales.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience with Structural Steel (SFS/LGS) design
Strong knowledge of industry codes and regulations
Ability to independently solve technical issues
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD
Ability to create detailed and accurate engineering drawings
Strong analytical, problem-solving and report writing skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in both team-oriented and independent environments
Proficient in MS office suite
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with BIM software
Experience in the construction industry
Good knowledge of project management
Proficient in Advanced Steel, Autodesk Revit
Experience in cold-formed steel design
You will need to be able to manage your own time, work to deadlines and actively seek out and research new ideas .
Work can be done remotely for most of the project with a few days spent a month spent in the factory in Norwich and onn-site on completion of design work. Alternativley the applicant is welcome to come into the factory full-time if they wish.
