Salary :
We are looking for a Structured Cabling Technician! The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to install and troubleshoot fiber optic networks, network cabling, access control, camera systems and video systems at a customer location. This position requires a person who is mechanically inclined, understands mechanical drawings and blueprints, can use hand tools, operate testing equipment and have the ability to follow instructions. The individual must be self-motivated and dependable, travel between different work locations. This position requires the individual to work outdoors at times in all weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in telecommunications, electrical, or other related fields
- Familiarity with structured cabling, camera and video systems
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Works well in a team environment
- Is self-motivated and capable of working alone as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to climb ladders, use lifts, work in small spaces, work indoor or outdoor in all weather and temperature conditions
- Can stand, sit, squat or kneel for long periods of time
- Can lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to travel if required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow the standards set forth by management
- Install, terminate and test network cabling and fiber optic cabling
- Install camera systems and assist technicians in programming when needed
- Install video systems
- Provide support to team members
- Investigate customer issues and design appropriate solutions
- Maintain van inventory stock supplies
Position work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Monday - Friday
$17 - $20 an hour
Based on experience.
