Structures Analyst (Levels IV)

Job Description - Structures Analyst (Levels IV)

Ghostworks Marine builds specialized, high-performance composite vessels for commercial and U.S. Navy customers. Our Structures Analysts perform the structural analysis that underpins every vessel we design and build, working across the full range of experience — from early-career analysts developing core skills to senior experts who set technical direction. This posting covers Levels I through V; candidates are considered for the level that matches their demonstrated experience and independence.

Position Summary

Structures Analysts are responsible for structural analysis of composite marine vessel components and systems, supporting both commercial and military programs. All levels share a common core of responsibilities and qualifications; what differs by level is the complexity of problems handled, the degree of independence, and mentorship expectations. Analysts report to the Structures Analysis Lead.

Core Responsibilities (All Levels)

  • Perform structural analysis of composite marine structures, including hand calculations and finite element modeling as appropriate to the task.

  • Support load case development for static, dynamic, and fatigue conditions.

  • Document analysis methodology, assumptions, and results in a clear, traceable format suitable for internal and customer review.

  • Collaborate with Naval Architecture, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve structural questions arising during design and build.

  • Maintain awareness of relevant classification society and/or military structural requirements applicable to assigned programs.

  • Escalate technical issues or areas of uncertainty to the Structures Analysis Lead as appropriate to level.

Core Qualifications (All Levels)

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of composite material behavior and structural analysis fundamentals.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with one or more of the following classification society scantlings rules: ISO 12215, DNV HSLC, Bureau Veritas.

  • Strong attention to detail and clear technical documentation habits.

  • S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
