Position Summary

The Student Center Operations Department at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Student Center Coordinator's position.

Two years related experience in a Student Union/Student Affairs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and use of event management systems (EMS), computers and audio-visual equipment (microphones, speakers, amplifiers. projectors and screens).
Ability to work with minimal supervision and takes initiative to organize and prioritize a heavy and diverse workload to meet stringent deadlines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the implementation and coordination of details of facility and space usage, special events, and conferences associated with Student Affairs, and other university and external customers.
Assistant in planning and execution of services for a wide range of university events including sound reinforcement, lighting, video, and audio-visual presentations.
Provide quality production support and customer service for clients, and assist in the planning of upcoming events in a timely manner.
Communicate directly with both internal and external clients to identify their needs for an event.
Ensures smooth-running, effective events, including successfully recognizing and resolving potential and real problems in a timely manner using tact and sensitivity.
Responsible for monitoring Student Center Operations facility/space, game room and outdoor space.
Acts as the on-site person contact for customers and Event Services staff to ensure successful setup and event management; this includes day, evening, and weekend commitments.
