The Student Development Coordinator works independently and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a broad range of activities that support Physician Assistant (PA) students, the preclinical curriculum, program operations, and accreditation-related initiatives. This position serves as a key administrative partner to faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of educational and student support services.

The Administrative Manager serves as the primary supervisor for this position, with programmatic oversight provided by the Program Director. The Student Development Coordinator also works closely with the Director of Preclinical Education, Director of Clinical Medicine, program faculty, and administrative staff to support the successful operation of the Physician Assistant Program.
Qualifications
This position requires strong organizational, project management, and communication skills typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Candidates must have at least three years of experience planning, coordinating, and implementing complex programs, projects, or events.
Experience providing direct supervision is strongly preferred, including assigning and reviewing work, supporting employee development, coaching staff, and managing performance. Demonstrated proficiency with educational and administrative technology platforms is also strongly preferred, including Canvas, ExamSoft, SharePoint, Zoom, Microsoft Office applications, Qualtrics, and Box.
Work Schedule and Location Requirements
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to the nature of the Duke Physician Assistant Program and academic calendar, occasional work outside of standard business hours, including earlier start times, may be required to support instructional activities, student programming, and other program-related needs. Periodic evening and weekend events may also be required and will generally be scheduled with advance notice.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of up to two remote workdays per week, subject to operational needs, program schedules, and approval by leadership. Regular on-site presence is required to support student services, curriculum activities, meetings, and other program operations at the Duke Physician Assistant Program located at 800 S. Duke Street in Durham, North Carolina.
Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $45,661.00 to USD $69,707.00.
