Job Description - Student Services Director: Peninsula and Pepper Pike Campuses

Job Summary: Heritage Classical Academy is seeking a qualified Student Services Director.  This position is full-time and will oversee the Student Services departments at both the Pepper Pike and Peninsula Campuses.  The ideal applicant understands and is excited about the great tradition of classical Christian education.  They must exhibit academic strength in their field, demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, and exude a love for children.  Start date is Summer 2026.



Biblical Expectations: All employees of Heritage Classical Academy possess a Christian testimony demonstrating a personal, active, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. They also fully support HCA’s Statement of Faith and support the mission to Cultivate Lifelong Learners Who Think and Live for Christ. They will also be involved in a local church that aligns with the mission and vision of HCA.


 


Job Requirements



  • A deep, personal walk with Jesus and a commitment to the classical model of education. 

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (K-12 Mild/Moderate OR Moderate/Intensive). 

  • Experience in the Special Education field. 

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership. 

  • Able to use the OHID
    portal and scholarship billing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.


 


Job Responsibilities:


Strategic and Classical Leadership 



  • Align intervention strategies with the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric), ensuring students with learning differences can still participate. 

  • Train staff on differentiating and accommodating without diluting curriculum. 

  • Review ETRs and IEPs for incoming students to determine if HCA can effectively meet their needs given our current resources. 

  • Work in tandem with administration to develop a long-term vision for the Student Services department as the school grows, including hiring and collecting/implementing resources. 

  • Serve on Administrative Team 

  • Develop best practices for Upper School Student Service program vs. Lower School practices.


 


Jon Peterson/Autism/Downs Syndrome Scholarship Management 



  • Manage the annual renewal of HCA as an ODE-authorized JP provider, as applicable.  

  • Be designated as the official representative for HCA who administers the Scholarship Program function in OHID. 

  • Monitor student funding categories (Categories 1–6). 

    • Oversee monthly invoicing and billing for services provided. 



  • Collect and upload Parent Affidavits and Proof of Residency. 

    • Maintain copies of finalized IEPs and ETRs to prevent funding lapses. 

    • Upload mandatory Quarterly Progress Reports for every scholarship recipient. 




 


Compliance & District Relations 



  • Serve as the official HCA representative at IEP and ETR meetings. 

  • Work with Intervention Specialists to translate district IEPs into Student Plans of Progress (SPPs) that are actionable for classroom teachers. 

  • Coordinate with district Student Services personnel for initial evaluations and re-evaluations to ensure students remain eligible for services and scholarships. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Special Education programs of fellow Classical Christian schools in the area. 


 


Faculty/Parent Support 



  • Conduct observations to help teachers implement accommodations for students with disabilities and learning difficulties. 

  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, upholding the school’s commitment and values. 

  • Maintain and develop further a list of trusted local external providers (OT, PT, Speech) for family referrals.
