Student Success Advisor

Description

We are looking for a compassionate and energetic Student Success Advisor to join our team at Joyce University. In this role, you will provide administrative support in student services through advising, coaching and direct communication with an assigned student load. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of university policies and procedures, each program’s curriculum, program requirements, and graduation requirements. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a variety of people. This position is located on our campus in Draper, Utah, however we may consider highly experienced individuals for a remote role.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:  

• Service assigned students as needed, including but not limited to: scheduling and course management, study skills, and stress and time management.   
• Provide coaching in professionalism and set expectations for academic integrity and student code of conduct standards   
• Plan and implement student workshops and monthly student appreciation.   
• Monitor and report on at-risk students.   
• Provide encouragement and resources to students who are at-risk for failing grades and/or attendance issues.   
• Provide monthly proactive out-reach to students with encouragement and resources to maintain success in courses.   
• Document student interactions in the student information system.   
• Timely and accurate responses to students via email, phone, text, and help desk communications    
• Attend departmental meetings and trainings    
• Collaborate with all University departments for student success    
• Understand and comply with FERPA regulations    
• Assist with orientation, graduation and other student events as required.    
• Maintain student areas to ensure cleanliness, availability of needed supplies and appropriate communication with students.   
• Other duties as assigned.   

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

• Required education - Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred   
• Required experience - 2-3 years a relatable field, Higher Education experience preferred   

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  

Location: Draper, UT   

Employment Status: Full time   

Hours of Employment: 40 hrs./week
