Position Summary



Reporting to the Studio Manager, the Studio Assistant supports the mission of Ben’s Bells by working alongside volunteers to create ceramic pieces, supporting retail operations, and assisting with mural workshops and installations.



Responsibilities




  • Represent the mission of and story behind the project to the community

  • Lead volunteers and community service members during studio hours, mosaic workshops, installations, and special events (including verification of hours volunteered as needed)

  • Assist in studio operations, including opening, closing, and keeping a clean and orderly studio

  • At the direction of the Studio Manager, produce and assemble handmade ceramic items, including loading and firing of the kiln

  • Conduct retail sales

  • Provide Marketing and Events Manager with social media content, including images of volunteer groups and stories that volunteers share about their experience with the organization

  • Other duties as assigned


 


Essential Skills and Abilities




  • Excellent people skills including an ability to partner with a diverse team of staff and volunteers

  • Flexible and able to manage shifting priorities; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment

  • Familiarity and desire to continually improve volunteer experience and studio operations

  • Personal qualities of kindness, integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Ben’s Bells

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to create effective systems and processes


 


Qualifications




  • Customer service experience preferred but not required

  • Background in non-profit or volunteer work preferred but not required

  • Retail experience and proficiency with Point of Sale system preferred but not requiredCeramics experience preferred but not required

  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required

  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors

Timeline Position will remain open until filled.



This position is full-time, scheduled for 35 hours per week, at our Downtown location. Shifts will include weekend and occasional evening hours, as well as off-site events. Employees must have reliable, personal transportation, and open scheduling availability is required for this position.
