This position serves as a curriculum developer/subject matter expert responsible for analysis, research, design, and development for vehicle manufacturing training curriculum.
The duties of this position entail researching and gathering manufacturing engineering information in support of training design, development, and delivery.
This role is the main research agent for an OEM manufacturing customer working with an internal curriculum team to develop course content relevant to manufacturing.
Candidates for this position must have a technical background in automotive electrical, be proficient in automotive electrical architecture, wiring systems, and associated systems and sub systems.
They must understand the automotive assembly process, systems and software associated with vehicle manufacturing.
This individual must be highly motivated, personable, and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
This position requires meeting or exceeding customer launch support deadlines, delivery milestones and Interfacing with internal and external customers within and the
manufacturing customers industry.
Specific roles and responsibilities include:
Function as a subject matter expert for gathering, researching, and analyzing manufacturing content for incorporation into the course/curriculum.
Interface with and support Instructional Systems Designers, Graphic Artists, and Trainers with course content to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Ensure the course content is relevant for the targeted audience.
Analyze and identify future training product needs for each of the OEM manufacturing activities.
Research component supplier and vendor engineering materials.
Research and compile technical and non-technical information to be included in the course materials, such as, but not limited to IVED Schematics, Work in Process Service Information, and engineering documents/processes.
Participate and lead kick off and design review meetings as the SME working with the various manufacturing customers/stakeholders.
Support the development of customer training standards and requirements and ensure all new training content complies. Recommend updates to the standard(s) as needed.
Research alternative training methodologies to include combining courses according to technology, complexity, and student audience.
Recommend and create improvements to training design, development, and delivery for the automotive manufacturing students.
Advise and create appropriate training solutions based on manufacturing engineering information such as E-FTQ, GSIP and MERS data to improve manufacturing processes and systems.
Support the electrical team members for supplier quality, electrical manufacturing processes and product design troubleshooting skills.
Assist the Curriculum Manager to plan, schedule, and deliver training events at the customers training center and other locations as directed by, and in support of manufacturing students.
Knowledge of efficient methods of diagnosing and correcting vehicle electrical systems and sub-system issues
Knowledge and application of failure modes assessment analysis
Analyze vehicle electrical systems and sub-systems to accurately identify the potential cause(s) of vehicle system issues.
Act as the liaison between engineering and the manufacturing students by gathering information to in support of development and delivery of the curriculum.
Communicate and share lessons-learned gathered in support of vehicle launches, and manufacturing processes with manufacturing engineering and the plant training group.
Knowledge of SharePoint sites, Google Docs, adult learning methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
Required Skills:
Associate degree in automotive technology, engineering, or other related discipline
Minimum of 5 years related automotive/manufacturing industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience working with OEM assembly plants and suppliers
Demonstrated knowledge of intricate automotive systems from an advanced diagnostics perspective including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
Ability to read and interpret a digital multi meter (DMM), OEM Scan Tools and other automotive related diagnostic test equipment.
Ability to work with both internal and external customers.
Ability to interpret early engineering level electrical schematic diagrams and documents.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Valid Driver's License
Understand module programming equipment and tools.
Ability to conduct stand up presentations relaying technical information to multiple groups.
Ability to Interface with engineering and launch teams with minimal supervision.
US Citizenship with a valid US passport
Ability to travel (Up to 25%)
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in automotive technology, engineering or another related disciple preferred.
