Subject Matter Expert - SOP Coordinator Digital Fleet

At District Photo, our employees are the heart of our company. We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert – Digital Fleet to join our team in Maryland. This role will emphasize creating, refining, and maintaining clear documentation and SOPs to drive consistency, quality, and efficiency across our digital print operations.

Purpose of the Role

The Press SME is the technical authority for District Photo’s high-volume digital print operations. This role is central to establishing best practices, ensuring adherence to customer and operational standards, and delivering measurable improvements in performance and reliability. A key focus will be developing and maintaining comprehensive SOPs, technical guides, training materials, and maintenance documentation to support global scalability and team development. Occasional travel may be required.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & SOP Development

- Lead the creation, revision, and standardization of SOPs for all digital press processes.

- Translate technical procedures into clear, concise documentation tailored for multiple audiences (production, maintenance, engineering).

- Maintain a central repository of SOPs, troubleshooting guides, training resources, and maintenance logs.

- Ensure all documentation reflects current best practices and is routinely audited for accuracy and effectiveness.

Operational Excellence

- Define and communicate clear performance standards (e.g., speeds, feeds, weights).

- Drive consistency across shifts and locations through process standardization.

- Conduct and document root cause analyses for performance deviations and implement corrective measures.

- Provide detailed weekly/monthly performance reports with actionable insights.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

- Develop and deliver training programs aligned with documented SOPs.

- Simplify complex technical content to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.

- Design evaluation methods to assess team proficiency and support ongoing development.

Technical & Engineering Support

- Review and optimize preventative maintenance schedules.

- Standardize maintenance and repair protocols across facilities.

- Recommend, document, and oversee implementation of hardware/software upgrades.

- Maintain comprehensive service and repair logs for all digital press systems.

- Collaborate with planning, engineering, and production teams to support the integration of new technology and processes.
