Subrogation Specialist

The Subrogation Specialist is responsible for casualty claim reviews and investigations. The specialists are responsible for tracking subrogation cases and communicating with resolution groups while following compliance in state regulations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Casualty claim review & investigation 
• Determine Medicaid eligibility 
• Open and maintain subrogation cases
• Maintain tracking of pending cases
• Communicate with law firms and lien resolution groups
• Respond professionally to inquiries from attorneys 
• Ensure compliance with state regulations 
• Monitor and respond to voicemails daily

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:

• Working knowledge of casualty or liability claims 
• Familiarity with litigation processes
• Working knowledge of pain management medications  
• Understanding of HIPAA and other data privacy considerations related to claims handling

• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize tasks
• The ability to excel within a team environment and independently
• Microsoft Office and data entry skills with ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends and solve problems
• Knowledge of medical billing and denials management terminology a plus
• Knowledge of HIPPA, UB04, CMS1500, ICD-10 forms and CPT codes (preferred)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with a positive and professional attitude during all interactions.
