Willamette Family is looking for Substance Abuse Counselors for Withdrawal Management in our Buckley Detox program. This position is a part of the expansion of our current services. The Buckley Detox Program has a new building underway! With the construction of our NEW Buckley location that will allow for an expansion of crucial substance use treatment services for our community.

Position Overview: 

Willamette Family is seeking a substance use disorder counselor with a minimum CADC I to join our clinical and medical care team within the withdrawal management and medical residential program at our new Buckley location . Willamette Family is a leader in the State in providing this advanced level of care and is excited to offer this position to a qualified individual who is eager to be part of its implementation and development.  

Position: We are hiring for One Full-Time (40 Hours/ week) Position and Two Part-Time Positions 

Employment Type: Employee (W-2), Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Shift and Schedule: Must be available for Swing and Dayshift 

Compensation: $22-26.50/ hourly Starting wage will depend on the level of certification.  

6 months of employment: $2500 Bonus

1 year of employment: $2500 Bonus

Minimum Qualifications: 

• CADC- R with the ability to obtain CADC I within six months of hire. CADC II is preferred.

Employment Requirements: 

• This role requires the Substance Abuse Counselor to be available on-site; Must be located in the Eugene, OR area or be willing to commute. 
• Background Check Approval from the Department of Human Services (Initiated post-offer) 
• Pre-employment Drug Screening (including Cannabis/THC) (Initiated post-offer) 
• Effective 03/28/2025- Willamette Family has a required 12 month waiting period before former clients can apply for employment.  Job Duties: 

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey by providing compassionate, evidence-based care. 

• Facilitate Group Counseling: Lead supportive and therapeutic group sessions to foster peer connection and personal growth. 
• Conduct Educational Presentations: Provide informative and engaging sessions on substance use, recovery strategies, and coping skills. 
• Provide Individual Counseling: Support clients in managing, reducing, and resolving substance use challenges through one-on-one counseling. 
• Act as a Liaison: Collaborate with community partners and resources to ensure continuity of care and holistic support for clients. 
• Deliver Culturally Responsive Services: Offer inclusive, client-centered care that respects and integrates diverse backgrounds and needs. 
• Stay Informed and Certified: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of substance use treatment best practices and fulfill all certification requirements. 
• Engage in Supervision: Participate in regular supervision with the Clinical Supervisor for guidance and professional development. 
• Complete Administrative & Program Tasks: Perform general office duties and carry out responsibilities assigned by the Clinical Supervisor and Program Leadership.
