Job Description - Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) Supervisor

Full-time

Description

Lead with Compassion. Supervise with Heart. Empower Care that Meets People Where They Are.

At Volunteers of America Eastern Washington, we believe that healing happens through connection, compassion, and consistency. We are currently seeking a Licensed SUDP Supervisor who brings not only clinical expertise, but a deep commitment to person-centered care. This leadership role supports a dedicated team providing trauma-informed, community-based substance use disorder services to individuals navigating housing instability, co-occurring disorders, and complex life challenges—outside the traditional clinic setting.

If you're a licensed clinician who values flexibility, mentorship, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families, we invite you to join our mission-driven team.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide clinical supervision to SUDPs, SUDPTs and peer support staff in alignment with state licensing and supervision standards (WAC 246-811-049.).
  • Guide your team through regular supervision, professional development, and trauma-informed training.
  • Support new team members through onboarding and mentorship.
  • Maintain a small caseload and deliver direct client care, including assessments, individualized treatment planning, and counseling.
  • Ensure all clinical documentation meets both regulatory and quality standards.
  • Collaborate across programs and with external partners to promote integrated, wraparound care.
  • Offer real-time consultation and crisis support for staff and clients.
  • Participate in quality improvement and compliance efforts.
  • Assist with staff evaluations and growth planning.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Active SUDP license in the state of Washington.
  • Qualified to provide clinical supervision per Washington State requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum two years of experience in substance use disorder treatment.
  • At least one year of supervisory or clinical leadership experience.
  • Experience working with children or youth (minimum 1 year).
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and serving individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with documentation requirements and use of electronic health records.
  •  Valid WA driver’s license.
  •  Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Negative TB test and ability to pass a DCYF background check.

Preferred:

  • Experience supervising peer support staff or working within integrated care models.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid documentation and compliance standards.

Why Join VOA?

  • Deliver care in a flexible, community-based environment where people—not paperwork—come first.
  • Be part of a mission-driven team that centers dignity, respect, and equity in every interaction.
  • Support vulnerable populations through meaningful leadership and mentorship.
  • Grow professionally in a collaborative, supportive workplace where your voice matters.

Bring your compassion. Bring your leadership. Be part of care that goes further.
