Job Description - Substation Engineer

Volt is immediately hiring for a

Substation Engineer in Baltimore, MD . If you have experience with substation design, layout, commissioning and field support, then this position is for you.

As a

Substation Engineer

you will:
Use your skills and experience working with substation design, P&C, SCADA and/or commissioning experience.
Work with local Government Municipalities, Energy Companies, Engineering Firms, Large corporations for their energy needs on many types of substation projects.
Mentor junior engineers and CAD designers in General/Physical Layout as well as Protection & Control packages of renewables and/or substation design projects.
Be the sealing engineer for the majority of work produced by the team and will also act to manage customer relations and well as business development with select clients.
Perform engineering calculations; using computer design software and referencing appropriate engineering procedures and design manuals.
Prepare complex project documents including specifications and bid documents.
Perform complex drawing reviews such as checking and marking up full plan sets to ensure the plans are a clear, concise, and thorough graphical representation of the intent of the design.
Supervise work and assists in training of division Project Engineers I and II

This is a

full time, Direct Hire

opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:
Proficient in substation engineering

such as physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, relay testing Performs and directs project design.
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Five to ten years of applicable experience required.
Experience mentoring and scheduling the work of junior engineers, designers, CAD operators on your assigned team.
Capability to be Customer’s Point of Contact to manage existing projects and customer satisfaction, as well as future business and upcoming project plans

Salary:

$110,000 - 125,000/year
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
