ABOUT YOU

You will play a vital role in the lives of our students. You will display a positive, approachable, and professional demeanor and will serve in the day-to-day communication with our students, staff, and parents. You will be able to work independently, as well as with a team. You will provide direct professional nursing care/services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to the unique and diverse needs of students in a positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community. Delegates interventions as per guidelines and policies. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Unencumbered, Alabama nursing license
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• School nurse experience preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include working first, second, and third shifts; and weekends.
• Function within the framework of the Alabama Nursing Practice Act.
• Comply with federal, state, and internal policies, administrative guidelines, mandates, and regulations that impact nursing and school health services.
• Delegate interventions as per guidelines and policies.
• Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid for by AIDB.

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF NURSING

SALARY:      $16.93    Hourly rate – S1 Rank HS Scale LPN

                       $30.60    Hourly rate – S1 Rank HS Scale RN    

This is an exempt position and is not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
