Substitute Teacher

Davidson Charter Academy is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team!

We are looking for dependable, flexible individuals who can step into a classroom and keep students safe, engaged, and on task during a teacher’s absence. Substitute Teachers follow the teacher’s lesson plans, maintain classroom routines, and help ensure that learning continues throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Follow the teacher’s lesson plans and daily schedule.


• Take attendance and report absences.


• Guide instruction and help students complete assignments.


• Manage classroom behavior and reinforce school expectations.


• Supervise students throughout the day and during assigned duties.


• Follow student accommodations and school safety procedures.


• Leave a summary of completed work and any concerns for the teacher.


• Keep the classroom organized and maintain student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in the educational field is required.
  Applicants without educational experience will not be considered.


• Strong classroom management and communication skills.


• Ability to follow written instructions and adapt to different classrooms and grade levels.


• Patience, dependability, and a professional approach to working with students and staff.


• Commitment to student safety and learning.

Work Hours

• Full day: 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.


• Morning half day: 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.


• Afternoon half day: 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Compensation

• $125 per full day (8 hours)
