Gretchen's House Child Care Centers in Ann Arbor are now accepting application for full and part-time substitutes!
Part-time positions offer flexible scheduling, based on individual availability. Regular work hours are not guaranteed in this type of role.
Full time substitutes are eligible for our Student Loan Repayment Program along with: Flexible Benefit Plan options include health, dental, vision, 401K, medical reimbursement, dependent care reimbursement, and short-term disability. Paid time off available for vacation, sick and holidays.

Substitute Teacher Purpose

•  To provide the center(s) with continuity and support and to cooperate in providing a warm and nurturing quality early childhood environment in which each child can grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially

Pay rate: $16.72-$20.10/hour, based on educational background

Requirements

• A Bachelors or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, but not necessary
• Immunization requirements - TDap, Varicella, MMR, Hep B plus annual influenza and Covid boosters (to protect our vulnerable population)
• Personnel file must be complete and up to date
• Adheres to attendance and dress code policies as outlined in the Staff Handbook
• Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers and parents
• Knowledge of children’s physical, emotional and developmental patterns
• Ability to create an atmosphere of positive and appropriate guidance
• Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Evidence of sufficient judgment to handle crisis situations
