Job Description - Summer 2026 Visiting Professor - Information Systems & Analytics (EMBA 910)

Gross total of $27,500 for the 6-unit course

Purpose:

The Department of Information Systems & Analytics at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic University in Silicon Valley, is seeking to fill a Visiting Professor position for the Summer 2026 quarter. We offer specialized executive and graduate courses that span the sub-disciplines of operations, technology, and supply chain management.

This is a targeted, part-time assignment for a stated fixed-term employment period beginning June 16, 2026, and ending September 15, 2026. This position requires a primary in-person presence on campus, alongside scheduled virtual sessions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold an advanced graduate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent professor status at a peer academic institution) in a related field.

  • Extensive university-level teaching experience and recognized expertise in operations management and supply chains are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level coursework, specifically EMBA 910: Managing Operations, Technologies & Supply Chains (6 Units, 2 Course Load).

  • Develop syllabi, assignments, and readings that align with course learning outcomes.

  • Conduct and appear on time for all scheduled class meetings (including designated in-person and virtual components) and exams as per the Santa Clara University Schedule of Classes.

  • Maintain regular weekly office hours on campus at times convenient to students and as determined by the Chair of the Department.

  • Use appropriate measures of student performance and provide timely feedback.

  • Assign and submit student grades to the Registrar that are an accurate and fair evaluation of student work by quarterly deadlines.

  • Administer both quantitative and narrative evaluation instruments as set by your department chair.

  • Ensure all work is performed strictly within the dates specified in the employment agreement, and that total workload limitations are respected.
