About Mt. Gilead Camp: Mt. Gilead Camp is a Christian summer camp dedicated to providing life-changing experiences for girls aged 6 to 16. Our mission is to mentor campers through authentic relationships, guiding them to passionately follow Jesus Christ. Set in a unique and fun environment, we offer a variety of activities, including archery, riflery, swimming, high ropes, horseback riding, and wilderness trips.
Position Overview: As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will mentor and guide campers aged 6 to 16, teaching activities such as archery, riflery, swimming, high ropes, horseback riding, and leading trips like camping, hiking, or canoeing. You will model a passionate pursuit of Jesus Christ, fostering authentic relationships that encourage campers' spiritual and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise campers in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Teach and facilitate various camp activities, including archery, riflery, swimming, high ropes, horseback riding, and wilderness trips.
- Provide spiritual mentorship, modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment that encourages personal growth and community.
- Collaborate with fellow staff to plan and execute engaging programs.
Qualifications:
- Female high school graduate or college student who will have completed their senior year of high school by this spring.
- Strong commitment to Christian values and the mission of Mt. Gilead Camp.
- Passion for mentoring and guiding young girls in their faith and personal development.
- Ability to teach or willingness to learn skills in activities such as archery, riflery, swimming, high ropes, horseback riding, and wilderness trips.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced camp environment.
