Program: Summer Spanish STEAM Camp

Location: Tampa, FL (on-site)

Dates: June 9 – July 3, 2025

Hours: 20 hours per week (Total: 80 hours over 4 weeks)

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and energetic Program Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Summer Spanish STEAM Camp. Under the direction of the Camp Coordinator, the Program Assistant will help ensure a safe, organized, and positive camp experience for all students. This is a part-time, seasonal position ideal for individuals passionate about education, child safety, and cultural enrichment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with student safety and supervision during drop-off and pick-up times
  
  


• Support smooth distribution of meals and snacks during breaks
  
  


• Help facilitate afternoon literacy activities and ensure student engagement
  
  


• Supervise and actively participate in outdoor fitness activities
  
  


• Accompany and assist with field trips, ensuring safety and positive behavior
  
  


• Provide general assistance to camp instructors and staff as needed
  
  


• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming camp environment
  
  


• Act as a positive role model, reinforcing camp values and rules
  
  

Schedule:

• 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday (June 9 – July 3, 2025)
  
  


• Program Assistants will be assigned to one of the following shifts:
  
  
  
  
  
  • Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
    
    
  
  
  • Afternoon Shift: 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM
    
    
  
  
  
  


• Occasional full-day hours may be required on field trip days (advanced notice will be provided)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with groups of children in a camp, school, or recreational setting


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full camp schedule


• Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment


• Energetic, flexible, and a team player


• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts)


• Background check clearance required prior to start


• Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
  
  

Compensation:

• $25 per hour, for a total of up to 80 hours during the camp period
