for the Metro Atlanta Area Command Boy & Girls Club Bellwood located in Atlanta Georgia.
Job Summary
Plans and provides activities for school-age children participating in The Salvation Army Bellwood Boys and Girls Club Summer Day Camp Programs; plans, develops, and facilitates character/leadership development, health/fitness/hygiene/nutrition training, education attainment, homework assistance, basic skill development in reading, writing and math, basic computer knowledge, and life/coping skills; prepares and maintains program records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development; Knowledge of the principles and practices of early childhood curriculum development; Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and C.P.R. and ability to ensure the safety of children;

Ability to teach children Christian values as well as general early childhood educational curriculum; Ability to plan, develop, and implement effective childhood programs and activities; Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language; Ability to observe children and ensure their safety;

Ability to use/operate general office equipment, playground equipment, kitchen equipment, recreation equipment and computer.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, And Two (2)

years experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License;

C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions.
Ability to meet attendance requirements; Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

Work is performed in a normal child care environment where there physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
