Position Overview

KidTown Academy is seeking energetic, responsible, and engaging Summer School Age Teachers to join our team for the summer program season. This position is responsible for supervising and leading school-age children in a safe, fun, structured, and enriching environment throughout the summer months.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, can lead activities with enthusiasm, and is committed to maintaining a positive and safe atmosphere while supporting children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth.

Responsibilities
    •    Supervise and engage school-age children throughout daily activities and field trips
    •    Plan and lead age-appropriate games, enrichment activities, outdoor play, and group activities
    •    Maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
    •    Ensure children are actively supervised at all times
    •    Assist with meal service, transitions, and daily routines
    •    Communicate professionally with parents and team members
    •    Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
    •    Follow all KidTown Academy policies and Wisconsin DCF licensing regulations
    •    Assist with attendance tracking, behavior management, and activity preparation
    •    Participate in team meetings and staff trainings as required

Qualifications
    •    Must be at least 18 years old & On Wisconsin Registry
    •    High School Diploma or GED required
    •    Previous experience working with school-age children preferred

    •    Strong communication and classroom management skills
    •    Ability to lead activities and maintain student engagement
    •    CPR, First Aid, SBS, and AHT certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
    •    Must pass all required background checks
    •    Dependable, energetic, patient, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills
    •    Experience in childcare, summer camps, recreation programs, or education settings
    •    Ability to plan creative and engaging activities
    •    Strong leadership and supervision skills
    •    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple children effectively

Schedule
    •    Monday–Friday
    •    Full-time and part-time positions available
    •    Summer program hours based on center needs and field trip schedules
