Summer Youth Programs Instructor

Job Description

Montgomery College Youth Programs provides high-quality courses that offer a variety of fun, educational, and engaging learning activities for students in grades K-12 in a safe and nurturing environment. As part of the Youth Programs team, instructors design and deliver or coordinate the delivery of courses and programs in a range of topic areas.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in appropriate concentration or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
• Knowledge of content area in classes/camps/programs being supported.
• At least 18 years old.
• Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging,  inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified to teach with teaching experience of two or more years; trained by MC faculty or camp instructors while currently employed.

As a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire:

• Candidates are subject to a state and federal criminal background clearance, CPS background clearance, and fingerprinting.  
• Upon hire, employees must satisfactorily complete training, attend a required orientation session (in person or remotely), and submit a health form reflecting the ability to handle work assignments with youth and colleagues.

The following hire and before camp/program implementation:

• Instructors will submit a syllabus for each camp/course.

For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.

Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
