The Area Superintendent (AS) is responsible for supervision of a specific area of the project. This role ensures project goals are met related to schedule, budget, safety, quality, and workforce development. The AS typically oversees field engineers in managing safety compliance, craft supervision and production, trade partner coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control, and training. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Location & Relocation
This role is based in Douglas, AZ, and requires relocation to the Sierra Vista, AZ area. Candidates should be open to relocating to ensure accessibility to the project site and the surrounding region. Relocation assistance may be discussed during the hiring process.
Essential Duties
Coordinate, supervise, and mentor the workforce in the assigned area
Oversee field construction through organization, proper planning, and collaboration with trade partners
Participate in weekly schedule and management meetings with trade partners
Promote and enforce the site-specific safety plan; create and review AHAs/STAs with foremen and trade partners
Maintain the portion of the four-week schedule for the assigned area to ensure timely project completion
Keep accurate cost and production records
Develop and execute material handling and site utilization plans for the assigned area
Verify material delivery for quantity, quality, and proper documentation
Take responsibility for quality control and establish high-level standards for both company and trade partners
Coordinate and manage the punch list process to ensure owner acceptance at project turnover
Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
Participate in project coordination meetings, supporting BIM and VDC engineers in issue resolution to keep submittals on schedule
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
5-6 years of experience on large commercial construction projects
Valid driver's license
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel-based templates), Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite
Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing interpretation
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10 Certification
CPR & First Aid Certification

Salary range: $90,000 $110,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
