Superintendent

A nationally recognized general contractor is looking for an experienced Superintendent to join its Florida team and lead field operations on complex commercial construction projects.

This is an opportunity for a proven field leader who can take ownership of day-to-day site operations, drive the schedule, lead trade partners, maintain high standards for safety and quality, and work closely with the project management team to deliver successful projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Lead day-to-day field operations and supervise onsite labor and trade contractors


• Drive a strong safety culture and help create an injury-free work environment


• Develop, maintain, and execute project logistics and site plans


• Manage CPM schedules, short-term look-ahead schedules, and field sequencing


• Coordinate subcontractors and hold trade partners accountable for schedule, quality, and safety


• Manage project QA/QC, testing, inspections, and documentation


• Coordinate and oversee self-perform scopes of work


• Monitor field labor, material usage, and project costs


• Review trade contractor pay applications and material invoices with the Project Manager


• Lead subcontractor, preinstallation, safety, owner, and project coordination meetings


• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, document revisions, and potential changes in scope


• Coordinate permitting, inspections, site mobilization, and temporary utilities


• Assist the project team during preconstruction and estimating


• Maintain accurate daily reports and project quantities

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of commercial construction experience


• Previous leadership responsibility on at least 3–4 projects, or experience independently leading multiple complex smaller projects


• Ground-up construction experience with a commercial general contractor


• Experience delivering projects in one or more of the contractor’s core markets, including:

• Experience on large, complex or highly coordinated projects is strongly preferred


• Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods


• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and field teams


• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and construction safety


• Working knowledge of MEP systems and coordination


• Ability to read, understand, develop, and manage construction schedules


• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs


• Ability to recognize changes in scope and identify potential cost impacts


• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills


• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may substitute for education
