At WCG, the Project Superintendent is an integral part of the team that converts two-dimensional drawings into exceptional facilities that delight our clients…and our clients’ clients. The successful Project Superintendent must be a planner who possesses humility and servant leadership skills. He or She must have strong team-building abilities and enjoy mustering enthusiasm. He or She must have tremendous pride in the work and exhibit tireless passion to get the job done despite the obstacles.
The Project Superintendent manages all aspects of a jobsite and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and direction of their assigned project. This includes everything from safety and quality, to logistics and schedule. As a member of the Operations & Safety Team, Project Superintendents are expected to foster a safe working environment and ensure adherence with all safety requirements. The Superintendent leads field operations by planning and communicating. He or she manages on-site craft personnel, materials, and equipment while serving as the daily WCG construction-site representative. The Superintendent has responsibility for prompt escalation and communication of all concerns, delays, instructions, and/or project changes rests with the Superintendent. Key aspects will include Planning, Safety, Scheduling, Quality Control, Coordination, Communication, Performance Monitoring, Problem Solving, and ensuring compliance with Prime Contract obligations.
Responsibilities
· With support from the Project Manager and other members of the project team, the Superintendent develops the detailed construction plan for the project which includes, as a minimum, a detailed critical path schedule and site logistics plans to manage each phase of construction. The Superintendent maintains and updates the construction plan throughout construction.
· Ensures that anyone entering the jobsite has received adequate safety orientation and has appropriate PPE.
· Provides daily oversight and management to ensure that all work activities are completed in compliance with the project schedule and at a level of quality that will meet or exceed the Owner's expectations. This includes providing guidance and coordination for all project tradesman, craft areas, and subcontractors working on WCG projects. This is accomplished by Planning, Scheduling, & Communicating the means and methods, manpower, equipment, and material resources required to accomplish project and organizational goals to all stakeholders.
· Leads weekly foreman meetings to communicate evolving plans to the subtrade partners. Participates in weekly Owner/Architect meetings to keep everyone informed of progress and challenges faced onsite.
· Reviews, and interprets all general contracts, subcontracts, scopes of work, drawings, and specifications to gain a full understanding of the contractor’s obligations for the project. Ensures the highest level of production for all trades and identifying necessary workarounds to promote the most efficient flow of work to maintain project schedules.
· Monitors and enforces all safety controls, processes and procedures in accordance with WCG's Health & Safety Manual, State and Federal obligations.
· Reports daily to the General Superintendent and in daily logs, any concerns, achievements, and activities occurring onsite throughout the day. Also, responsible for promptly documenting and communicating field performance issues, injuries, and accidents.
· Leads, develops, mentors, and trains trades people, assistant superintendents and foremen while also participating in related field performance reviews.
· Coordinates, provides, maintains, and submits (as required) Daily Safety Briefings, Daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Toolbox Talks, and Daily Reports.
Required Qualifications
· Possesses one or more of the following: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, OR 2) at least 4 years of commercial construction superintendent experience, OR 3) more than 6 years of progressive experience in a commercial/industrial construction management role.
· Must have recent experience as the Lead Superintendent running commercial construction projects valued at $8-10M
· Valid Driver’s License and availability to travel to project sites in Colorado and surrounding areas.
· Must be able to read drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontracts.
· Understand procedural documents such as ASIs, RFIs, and Submittal processes.
· Knowledge of commercial construction projects including, but not limited to: surveying, layout, excavation, site grading, masonry installation, drywall installation, concrete forming and placement, framing, interior finishes, and MEP systems.
· Must have a strong knowledge of building systems.
· Superb problem-solving skills.
· Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
· Ability to build, update, and maintain the project schedule.
· Capable or proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
· Excellent communication skills (i.e. verbal and written).
· Experience using Procore is a plus.
· Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak/hear, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type.
