The company maintains significant in-house construction capabilities, giving its teams direct involvement throughout the development and construction process. This approach allows the organization to maintain strong control over quality, schedule, cost, and project execution.

About the Project

This Superintendent will join the team supporting a major 50-story, approximately 1.1-million-square-foot high-rise property in Chicago's Loop.

The project represents a significant opportunity to work on a high-profile urban asset in one of Chicago's most prominent redevelopment corridors, with a complex scope requiring strong coordination between field operations, design teams, ownership, consultants, and trade partners.

The Role

The Superintendent will take a leadership role in the day-to-day field operations of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and ownership to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and according to the project plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader with a strong background in high-rise, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, or large-scale urban construction who can effectively manage multiple trades and keep a complex project moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily field operations across all phases of construction.

  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term field schedules in coordination with the Project Manager and project team.

  • Lead daily coordination meetings and communicate project priorities to subcontractors and field personnel.

  • Monitor subcontractor progress against the project schedule and hold trade partners accountable for commitments.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, deliveries, logistics, and site access.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to identify schedule risks, changes, and potential project issues.

  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and ensure construction conforms to contract documents and project requirements.

  • Manage project punch list, closeout, turnover, and warranty activities.

  • Enforce project safety policies and OSHA requirements while promoting a strong jobsite safety culture.

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, documentation, schedules, and field records.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and inspectors to resolve field issues.

  • Participate in RFI and submittal coordination and provide field input on constructability.

  • Proactively identify potential problems and develop solutions before they impact schedule or quality.

  • Assist with project logistics, site utilization, material staging, crane/hoist coordination, and overall site organization.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and other field staff.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction experience, with significant experience in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent capacity.

  • Strong experience with high-rise, commercial, mixed-use, or largescale urban construction.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades on complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, plans, specifications, and building systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve field issues quickly and effectively.

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
