Apply Today! \n\nWhere You Will Work\n\nLocated approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. \n\nMorenci is a unique company town where our employees and their families can reconnect with nature through hiking, fishing, camping, hunting and numerous parks. The company offers several amenities, including company housing OR employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $750 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines, a newly constructed daycare and community center, library, health-care facilities, state-of-the-art fitness centers, a movie theater and a skate park. Visit the Morenci town website to learn more. \n\n## Description\n\nUnder limited supervision, plan, organize, manage and evaluate assigned operations, including but not limited to, daily production, product quality, environmental management, safety, or maintenance. Supervise through Senior Supervisors.\n\n \n\n * Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures in assigned area within the business\n * Direct Supervisors and other staff in daily operations; inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work\n * Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies\n * Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff; participate in the selection of staff\n * Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary\n * Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects\n * Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures\n * Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development; coordinate work with other units and site departments\n * Provide information and resources to site officials and other departments; answer questions and provide information to the public\n * Review Capital Improvement Plans and make recommendations\n * Evaluate infrastructure, facilities and operating systems for needed maintenance and repair\n * Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors\n * Perform other duties as required\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\nMinimum Qualifications \n\n * High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience, OR\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree and three (3) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience\n\n * Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required, depending upon the department/site.\n\n * Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees\n\n * Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities\n\n * Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring and administering budgets\n\n * Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions\n\n * Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards\n\n * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing\n\n\n\n\nCriteria/Conditions\n\n * Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English\n * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards\n * Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment\n * Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.\n * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.\n * Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday.\n * Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.\n * Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws.\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Offer You \n\nThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $116,000 - $162,500 annually. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company\u0027s plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
