Supervisor, Engineering Inspection - Permits

Job Duties: Under the supervision of the Project Engineer:

• Plans and supervises the work of Engineering Inspector IIs and is responsible for all permit reviews and inspection in designated areas of the county. 


• Performs the most advanced and complex inspection assignments and serves as the technical expert concerning area activities.


• Informs and confers with the Permit Engineer regarding emergencies, unexpected changes to the design of project or traffic control issues.


• Coordinates inspection coverage during absences.
  


• Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.


• Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.


• Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
  

Special Experience/Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent.


• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible technical experience in highway design and engineering which involved construction and/or permit inspection activities


• Experience as the lead or supervisor of support staff employees, or equivalent experience.


• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
