Job Description - Supervisor, Food Services-Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center-Full Time
Description Responsible for assisting the Production Manager in the overall management of operations to include quality, product safety, associate safety, making production metrics, staffing, budgeting, maintenance, and raw material planning. Provides advice and oversees standardization of recipes, menu preparation, portion, cost and waste control.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for compliance on FSIS-Food Safety Inspection Service issues and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA requirements and State Agricultural standards. 2. Ensures performance targets of the team are achieved. Reviews and analyzes performance reports and develops corrective actions to address sub-standard areas of performance. 3. Responsible for meeting daily, weekly and period production objectives. Develops methods to improve and exceed productivity standards. 4. Provide frequent production equipment monitoring to ensure proper line/equipment operation and GMP compliance. Work with maintenance to ensure proper servicing level on equipment. 5. Trains Associates on all production equipment, as needed. Troubleshoots equipment problems to ensure maximum running time of equipment. 6. Meets production order demands on a timely basis by coordinating the production schedule for the team. Supervises inventory levels to ensure dump/donations remain at or better than goal. 7. Ensures the safety of the team's Associates by complying with the company's safety system. Facilitates safety meetings/training, safety audits, injury investigations. Corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors. Ensures the department remains compliant with all requirements, policies and procedures as outlined by the Safety Manager. 8. Conducts weekly planning to identify staffing requirements, raw material or capacity concerns. 9. Maintains a presence on the floor a minimum of 50% of the time. 10. Completes daily administrative tasks and monitor compliance of the Associates including completing performance management reports, labor reconciliation, Associate scheduling, etc. 11. Communicates the team's performance with the coordinators and group leads. Focus on developing team-based action plans to improve the department.1 2. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required: 1. Associate's degree in culinary arts or related field, or 48 hours of college coursework, or additional equivalent and directly related experience. 2. Must have City of Houston Food Service Certification. 3. Three or more years of experience in food services and/or warehouse food storage and distribution.
Preferred: 1. Supervisory experience in Healthcare food service or related dining is preferred.
