Supervisor, Maintenance

The Supervisor, Maintenance reports directly to the Manager, Maintenance and is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of all machinery, equipment, systems, and facilities. This role includes supervising a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring all maintenance tasks are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining records, ordering supplies, and implementing safety protocols to uphold a secure and productive work environment.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Supervise all maintenance activities at the site, ensuring repairs and changes are completed flawlessly and on schedule.
• Plan and oversee the daily work of all hourly maintenance associates, determining priorities and ensuring tasks are followed up and executed.
• Ensure all facilities and systems remain in reliable working condition and comply with customer and regulatory specifications.
• Develop and implement a maintenance associate development plan, providing training and growth opportunities for team members.
• Coordinate planned projects and outages with relevant parties to minimize disruption and ensure smooth execution.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and manage the ordering and inventory of supplies.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager and other departments regarding operational needs and progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify issues and determine effective solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and delegation skills to manage and motivate team members effectively.
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with CMMS systems for asset management and reporting.
• Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Physical dexterity and stamina to meet the demands of the role.

Special Position Requirements

• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics to support maintenance activities and decision-making.
• Physical fitness to carry heavy loads and perform other physically demanding tasks.
• Responsibility for handling emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls for repair and support.
• Flexibility and resilience to adapt to various challenges in a fast-paced environment.
