Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing daily patient care operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. Provides direct supervision of assigned staff and coordinates workflow to support optimal patient throughput and satisfaction. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. Collaborates with interdisciplinary leaders to align patient care activities with organizational goals and performance metrics.
• Supervises daily patient care activities and assigns duties to ensure effective coverage and workflow.
• Monitors staff performance and provides coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to support growth and engagement.
• Ensures compliance with clinical protocols, safety regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Coordinates staffing schedules and manages time-off requests to maintain adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
• Oversees quality improvement initiatives and tracks key metrics related to patient care outcomes and satisfaction.
• Collaborates with nursing, physicians, and ancillary departments to address operational challenges and streamline processes.
• Participates in hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members to ensure readiness and alignment with departmental expectations.
• Investigates and resolves patient or staff concerns promptly to maintain service excellence and workplace harmony.
• Maintains accurate records and prepares reports related to operations, staffing, and performance indicators.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
0-4 years of relevant supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and supervisory/team lead experience typically required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Successful completion of the certification or registry examination as administered by the KBEMS.
Holds a current National or Kentucky Paramedic Registry status.
Two years of experience in the Emergency department setting.
Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),NVCI, Hazmat Operational level, PHTLS.
