Supervisor Pharmacy

Responsible for overseeing specific areas of pharmacy services, programs and personnel. Areas of focus may include non-sterile compounding and compliance with USP, sterile product compounding and compliance with USP , hazardous drug compounding and compliance with USP , pharmacy automation, technology and information systems, drug dispensing and delivery, narcotic control, pharmaceutical waste, procurement, pharmacist and pharmacy technicians training, drug shortage operations, 340B oversight, specialty pharmacy, ambulatory care and retail operations. Responsible for ensuring safe, timely, efficient, compliant and productive workflows in the operational and service areas in their areas of oversight. Leads the planning and implementation of new services, initiatives, scholarship, and/or staff development. May be responsible for the direct supervision of any combination of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy learners, pharmacists, or support staff who work within their scope of responsibility. All responsibilities are accomplished in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team under the direction of a Pharmacy Operations Manager, Clinical Manager, or Executive Director.

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Master’s Degree required and a minimum of two to three years of progressive hospital pharmacy experience required. Registration and licensure in accordance to the requirements of the NJ Board of Pharmacy required. Work requires the ability to manage the employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer level managers and department heads on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department.
