SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of production department on second shift by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
• Coordinates all work throughout the department by prioritizing jobs to meet deadlines, production quotas and keep work flowing on the machinery, assigning workforce, and adhering to quality standards of the company.
• Watches and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving the problems.
• Initiates plans to hire, motivate, or train workers to achieve work goals. Responsible for approving all human resource requests that pertain to vacation requests, personal time, hiring and terminating employees.
• Provides written performance reviews yearly for all employees in the production area. Reviewing the objectives quarterly with each employee to ensure all employees are cross trained on multiple machines and functions.
• Manages all correspondence with operations, CSR’s regarding jobs, timeframes, issues, complaints, or deadlines.
• Responsible for all aspects of inventory control in the department. This includes but is not limited to monthly and weekly inventory counts. Placement of stock, setting reorder points, organization, procurement, and disposal.
• Ensures that all daily, weekly, and monthly reports accurately reflect the information going on in the department.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
• Management skills: Must have prior experience managing multiple employees in a production atmosphere. This person must get work done through others while ensuring that jobs, procedures, and employees are following the companies’ standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure that a quality product is being delivered to our customer.
• USPS Knowledge: Working knowledge of all USPS rules and regulations regarding standard and first-class mail. They will be responsible for ensuring that the work: is presorted, processed, imaged, inserted, and sorted per USPS rules and regulations. Interfacing with all postal personal resolving issues and concerns daily. Ensuring that all mail is presented to the USPS correctly and overseeing delivery to outside sources to drop ship the mail to BMC’s and SCF locations.
• Organization skills: Must be fluent in Microsoft outlook to manage projects, issues, tasks. Must ensure that the department stays clean and always organized.
• Communication skills: Possesses a strong ability to communicate verbally and in written format with all customers and fellow employees. They must be able to follow instructions and ensure that the employees working for them understand the expectations of the job.
• Analytical: Must be able to gather information and interpret the information into the best possible cost -effective solution.
• Initiative: Takes independent action to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, while knowing when to ask for help or clarification on projects or issues
• Scheduling: Must be able to prioritize work, materials, and workforce to achieving daily, weekly, monthly objectives and deadlines
• Computer Skills: Must have fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, understand how to work in Microsoft access databases using reports and setting criteria for retrieving information they will need to manage. Working Knowledge of Excel by having the ability to create spreadsheets set up and use calculations to format sheets or cells.
• Mechanical Skills: Desired person will have prior mechanical experience with inserting and inkjet /addressing equipment. At times, this position will require the individual to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. They must understand how to set up and trouble shoot machines for different size materials. They must also have prior knowledge of how inkjet/addressing equipment works and how to troubleshoot problems with print.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises employees in the Production Department. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals and technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS NEEDED:
Experience with Bell & Howell inserting equipment, Pitney Bowes metering equipment, tying machines and other related mailroom equipment. Knowledge of Post Office rules and regulations and minimum computer skills needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary: $50K- $55K based on experience.
