Supplier Development Engineer

The Supplier Development Engineer will leverage technical expertise in manufacturing processes and Supplier Development Engineering (SDE) methodologies to support supplier qualification, product and process development, and launch readiness across the global supply base. Lead supplier feasibility assessments, execute APQP activities, and PPAP approvals to ensure robust, on-time, and safe launches. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and manufacturing readiness. Conduct supplier qualification audits to assess quality, and technical capabilities against business and product requirements; perform periodic requalification audits to ensure ongoing compliance and capability. Perform supplier feasibility assessments in support of new sourcing activities and new programs to confirm supplier understanding of product requirements and manufacturing capability; participate in cross-functional sourcing decisions by providing technical and supplier capability input. Manage APQP activities with suppliers from program kickoff through PPAP approval to ensure readiness for production. Support and monitor Safe Launch activities following PPAP to ensure flawless, on-time, and stable production launches. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Focus Supplier Programs to address performance gaps, strengthen capabilities, and improve quality, delivery, and manufacturing robustness. Support Supplier Quality Engineers in complex quality issues by contributing technical expertise to problem-solving activities, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective actions. Minimum Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum (4) four years experience in supplier development and/or supplier quality No relocation is available for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Southfield, Marshall, Galesburg MI to be considered. (Active Duty Military service members are exempt from this geographical limitation) Manufacturing process knowledge of cold forming and machining AIAG Core Tools (control plans: PFMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP) Strong project management experience Proficient with cross functional team work and strong communication skills (fluent in Engish)
