Job Description - Supplier Launch Readiness Industrial Engineering Manager

In this position... 


Your top priority will be leading end-to-end supplier launch readiness for upcoming vehicle programs—ensuring suppliers are fully aligned with operational requirements and capable of delivering on quality, timing, and volume expectations. You will drive the successful deployment and execution of the Materials Management Operations Guidelines (MMOG/LE) 4th Edition compliance process, partnering closely with Ford’s Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) organization, to ensure rigorous adherence and proactive risk mitigation. Beyond supplier readiness, you’ll also lead the development and implementation of innovative material flow and logistics strategies that boost overall efficiency, productivity, and quality across our global supply chain, ensuring alignment with Ford’s advanced manufacturing and automation standards.  This is a key leadership role for those who thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and are passionate about supply chain excellence, supplier performance, and operational discipline.

What you'll do…

  • Oversee and manage a team of Supplier readiness supervisors and Industrial Engineers
  • Establish and strengthen forward model launch delivery ensuring End-to-End (E2E) supplier readiness capabilities systemically and process wise.
  • Engage with Industry experts like Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) at executive levels to develop Material Management guidelines to meet emerging industry needs.
  • Lead the development and deployment of standardized material handling labor methods and performance benchmarks across Vehicle, Powertrain Assembly Plants and Purchase Service Providers, such as External Warehouses Services.
  • Review and resolve high-impact operational bottlenecks, conducting advanced equipment cycle time analysis and initiating data-driven improvement actions.
  • Champion lean initiatives including value stream mapping, workflow audits, and process reengineering, to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction and onsite leadership to suppliers encountering MP&L challenges, delivering targeted training, guidance, and performance coaching to drive operational readiness.
  • Oversee supplier engagement and compliance efforts, ensuring all Ford Q1 and MMOG standards are met ahead of Job 1 (J1) and holding suppliers accountable through structured follow-ups and readiness assessments.
  • Deploy emergency response leadership for current production disruptions, including comprehensive onsite assessments and extended MP&L support to stabilize operations.

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in supply chain operations (supplier release, packaging, logistics, part follow-up, material flow etc.)

Even better, you may have...

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and transforming supply chain space
  • Functional understanding of overall Material Planning & Logistics business practices and supporting systems.
  • Proven ability to lead data-driven transformation, by synthesizing complex data from cross-functional systems to uncover root causes, identify performance trends, and deliver strategic insights that enhance operational resilience.
  • Operational experience with Ford Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system CMMS (Common Material Management System) would be a major plus, - - Having knowledge of our MRP system supports investigating supplier issues.
