We are Responsive We have Integrity We are Dynamic We exhibit ExcellencePRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupplier Selection and Evaluation, including assessments of supplier system performance and review for risk and opportunity and technical reviewsWorking with suppliers through the APQP/PPAP and sample submission reviewsComplete corrective action, and supplier selection processes as needed. Provide guidance on complianceProvide support to Quality Department during new model changes and future product development and engineering changesWorks cross-functionally with all departments, Suppliers, and organization locations as assigned to ensure supplier parts conform to specifications supporting the production environmentWhen non-conformances are found, SQEs are to address the issue in a timely manner supporting the production process while driving irreversible corrective action back to the supplier processTrack Supplier performance metrics and trends to assist in supply base improvementSQEs focus on quality, cost, and delivery metric objectivesSQEs are expected to promote and maintain a safe and respectful work environment, and to adhere to all work policies and proceduresWork to ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of workFocus on cost metrics and objectives to ensure that processes are carried out with a focus on cost reductionAdhere to AM General requirements and processes and work to improve those processes where possiblePerform Supplier Quality system assessments for risk and opportunityUtilize AIAG methods of PFMEA, Control Plan and MSA throughout the processManage containment, follow- up and preventive actions while driving issues to resolutionUtilize Practical Problem Solving and Lean-Six-Sigma methodologies throughout the processKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSBachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical field (preferred)Experience using Total Quality Tools for problem solving is a plus (preferred)Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TS 16949 (preferred)Experience in Corrective Actions - 8Ds & 3x5 whysWorking knowledge of PFMEA, SPC and Control PlanWorking knowledge of (AIAG) Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Working knowledge of dimensional GD&T, check fixtures, measurement systems analysis and Statistical Process controlStrong proficiency in SAP (preferred)Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office ApplicationsStrong communication skillsProficiency in problem solving and problem solving methodologiesPHYSICAL EFFORTSight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focusHearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicateHand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate ones eyes with ones fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasksManual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controlsAgility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks, including the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Companys property surrounding facility, or additional work areasClimbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balanceLifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistancePhysical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groupsStamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time, including performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periodsWORKING CONDITIONSPhysical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noisesTeamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplaceListening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accuratelyAbility to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competentlyMethodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production lineConcentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes.
