Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: \n\nEaton is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Inspector on 1st shift to join our team. This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. \n \n\n\nThe Supplier Quality Inspector will verify incoming material, components or raw material, and in-process supplied parts or components meeting specifications and requirements, as required, per applicable drawings, inspection plan, internal and global procedures and/or component literature with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton\u2019s quality standards. \n \n\n\nMaking what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. It\u2019s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential\u2014and where you can help us reach ours. \n \n\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \n\n\u2022 Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. \n\u2022 Inspect incoming, and in-process supplied materials and components, according to skip lot, inspection work instructions, inspection plans, drawing requirements and specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, utilizing the appropriate measuring tools. \n\u2022 Process FAIs and PPAPs, documenting results and updating in WISPER. \n\u2022 Identify and reject non-conforming material, identify a problem solution, return/repair/replacement requests, collaborate with a cross functional team (including manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, etc.) to address quality concerns, analyses (root causes, sampling, capabilities, etc.), and resolve issues quickly. \n\u2022 Log NCMR updates and keep with latest status, replacement ETAs and tracking numbers. \n\u2022 Coordinate sampling inspections and sorting of material for containment actions, chargeback supplier, log COPQ. \n\u2022 Manage reworks/repairs per supplier instructions. \n\u2022 Assure compliance with EQMS policies, Global Supplier Quality Manual, ISO 9001, OpA criteria, etc. \n\u2022 Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and events.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\u2022 High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. \n \n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\u2022 Incoming Inspection/Supplier Quality experience. \n\u2022 Working knowledge of Lean concepts. \n\u2022 Associates degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics. \n\u2022 Minitab / Core Tools / Metrology / NPD experience \n\n## Skills:\n\nPOSITION CRITERIA: \n\u2022 Drawing/blueprints interpretation \n\u2022 Use of measuring tools/equipment \n\u2022 Knowledge of FAI, PPAP. \n\u2022 Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. \n\u2022 Knowledge of Eaton systems such as Enovia, material management (DMM), Plant Order Manager (POM), MRP/ERP (AS400), Quality Tool (MQ1), WISPER, CQM, Vista. \n\u2022 Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thrus, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures. \n\u2022 Job is fast-paced at times and requires multi-tasking. \n\u2022 There is high accountability associated with job performance. \n\u2022 The incumbent requires the ability to work in an environment of high pressure and high expectations.\n\n## ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\n\nExpected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. \n \n\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: \n\nWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
